Maybe TV science-explainer Neil deGrasse Tyson was inspired by this tribute to TV science-explainers Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking:

How funny! Love the vocalizations before the lyrics. Hawking’s synthesized voice lends itself quite well to robotuning.

Tyson’s piece is funny too, especially at the end when it sounds just like the stuff they play on the radio.

Yeah, I’ve always been a big fan of TV science-explainer Tyson! He’s so likeable!

He is likeable! He often appears on the History Channel show The Universe, which along with 30 Rock is one of two shows that Mrs Acilius and I watch weekly. Most of the astronomers and physicists on The Universe do seem very likeable. That’s one of the reasons we watch it. Also, it’s pitched at such a low intellectual level that it doesn’t matter how tired you are when you watch it or how little you know about the topic, it always makes you feel smart.

Maybe my evenings will free up someday, but right now my schedule is pretty full. Glad you and the missus are enjoying your TV shows, though!
