I thought the Mayans predicted Sarah Palin would be President of the Free World in 2012. But I’d be willling to trade up for Sergeant Schultz, or even Haley Barbour.

I heard on NPR or someplace that the actual Mayan people who live in Central America are mystified by all the hoopla around their calendar running out in 2012. They talked to some Mayans who explained that the calendar runs out periodically, then restarts. There’s nothing apocalyptic about it.

Anyway, I’d vote for Sgt Schultz for president any day. My first choice for the office of US president would be a vacancy, but Schultz would be the next best thing.

Yeah I read something like that. Since I first heard of the Mayan 2012 “end date” I wondered if modern people would expect that the ancient Mayans be still adding days to their calendar today, to avoid an end date.

Vacancy for President! Quite a proud moment for vacancies everywhere, if vacancies are indeed into “label pride.”
