    She reminds me of a singer I heard on the Dr. Demento show around 1987. The records were already very old then- she’d been around in the 1930s. Some rich lady who rented Carnegie Hall and paid to have herself recorded singing operatic arias there. Her singing was just a series of peeps and hoots. It was not musical in any familiar sense of the word, but it was impossible to stop listening to.
