   Amazing!

   The video is amazing, but so is the timing of your post.

   Yesterday evening I was talking to a coworker about jazz. That got me thinking that it would be nice if there were some Charlie-Parker inspired music on the blog.

   This morning, about 15 minutes ago, I was walking to the bus stop. I saw a neighbor who has a pet parrot. I asked her how he was doing, she told me about the latest trick he’s taught himself, sneezing and saying “bless you!” That got me thinking it would be nice if there were some bird-themed postings on the blog. I was thinking of putting up a post about the movie THE WILD PARROTS OF TELEGRAPH HILL.

   So I check the blog, and what do I see? Charlie-Parker inspired music and birds. Quite a coincidence! I may still put up those postings I was thinking of.

   The more you know about how they’ve been running elections lately, the more unnerving it is. The current issue of the Nation includes a guide to concerns about vote suppression. I’ll describe it and link to it when I do my “Periodicals Notes” about that issue.
