   We wouldn’t see a naked girl running screaming down the street. That would be unpatriotic.

   I very much doubt we would see her. Remember in 2004 when the papers revealed that the CIA had taken over former Communist prison camps in eastern Europe and was using them to hold suspected terrorists? There was an outcry- the Democrats and Republicans were horrified that someone would leak that secret information. The bigshots in Washington, politicians and journalists alike, all seemed to agree that it was the height of irresponsibility to publish classified information of that sort. Most of them didn’t even call it unpatriotic- irresponsible, unprofessional, childish, those seemed to be their favorite words.

   Once again, welcome to 1984.

   If McCain/Palin “get elected,” or however it’s done these days, war will indeed be peace, according to the White House.

   Whoever wins, I hope we see a change in the culture of national politics. It can’t go on like this.
