What have the Romans ever done for us?

Apparently when the Romans went to Wales, they took leeks.  The BBC reports on research giving the old empire credit for introducing that signature vegetable to Welsh gardens.

The Romans brought leeks to Wales.

The Greeks brought romance to males.

Wow, that’s clever! I hadn’t thought of that at all.

Oh, I thought I was solving the riddle of your post.

The closest thing to a riddle that I intended to put in the post was the pun available in “they took leeks.” Anyone crude enough to have the phrase “take a leak” in mind could get a chuckle out of that. But “The Romans took leeks to Wales/ The Greeks took romance to males”- that’s way out of my league for cleverness. I salute you!
