   I couldn’t be happier that he won. He’s the world’s nicest guy. And he sure can write a catchy tune.

   It’s a catchy tune and the video is not only cleverly conceived but exhilarating to watch . I still think the Wellington I. U. O. entry was even better, but I can’t be unhappy that Rod Thomas won. And I’m glad to hear that he’s so nice, the world needs nice people.

   So do I!

   Who would have thought that a song with a big chorus proclaiming “I’m bored, bored, bored of the same old lines” and “It’s not you, it’s me, it’s over” could be so light and happy? It’s the magic of the ukulele. Even the voices and other instruments sound happy when there’s a uke in the room.
