    Well I have something in common with people in New Zealand and Australia. Soft drinks. My in-laws call carbonated beverages tonic, understandably. “Coke” as a blanket term is just silly, IMO.

    I agree about “Coke ” as a blanket term. Since my Dad worked in retail, we always called them “soft drinks” when I was growing up.
